Image
Summer days are extremely hot all over India. So, installing an air conditioner is a common tendency among many people who can afford this electrical device. However, my mother often suffers from bronchial asthma, for which AC is unhealthy. The extra coolness and dryness of air caused by an air conditioning machine can trigger her asthmatic problem. So, I have researched online and also asked my friends to find some effective ways of keeping the home cool without an AC .   Installed good quality ceiling fan –   Plenty of ceiling fans of different models offered by various companies are available in the market. I checked customers’ feedback about these companies and visited several shops selling electrical appliances in my locality. Finally, I bought ceiling fans for my home that rotate at a very high speed and cool rooms to a large extent. The air is fast circulated in the room, due to which heat is dissipated even during hot summer afternoons.   Reduce th...

My First Photograph Taken In a Studio with My Mother

Image
I was a little girl of only 10 years. I needed to get a passport-sized photo for admission in a new school. I was about to be admitted in Auxilium Convent, Bandel, for which I was quite excited. My parents asked me to be dressed in my previous school’s uniform for this photo shoot session.   My mother got me dressed in the red and white checked tunic and white shirt, with a little red tie, which was the uniform of my previous school. I went to a studio in Bandel with my mother, as my father had to work overtime that day. The photographer uncle was a kind and cheerful person. He asked me to sit upright on a pouf in his studio and clicked my photo. He clicked twice to make sure of getting a good-quality passport photo of mine.   When I was asked to get up after the photo shoot, I thought of having a photo with my mother as well. I requested the photographer, “Uncle, please can you click a photo of me and mother too?” He readily agreed and asked me and my mother to...

People always try to protect their feet from all injuries or hard weather, as these are the parts which bear the total burden of their bodies. From ancient time, humans started the practice of tying some animal hides or strong barks of the tree around their ankles, so that their feet remained covered and protected while walking the jungles and mountains. Thus, started the custom of wearing socks on the feet, which is now too much popular among the people of all societies and of all ages.   Origin and reformation of socks down the history: The word “socks” is derived from the Latin word ‘Soccus’, which means loose-fitting slipper. The use of socks date long back to ancient man, as far as the 8 th century B.C., when mainly Greeks and Romans were known to put on socks, made from thick animal fur. My latest nightmare

Image
It is generally believed that people dream, whatever lies deep within their sub-conscious mind. Sometimes unknown places or people may come up with the dream, whom we actually might have forgotten after seeing just once. Our deepest fears also can show up in some other form in our dreams. In ancient times people wanted to decipher their dreams, as they feared that signs of their future might be predicted through their dreams by the divine powers. But modern psychologists also have accepted the importance of dreams in bringing out the inner self of a person. Normally I cannot remember my dreams, as the images become blurred after I am fully awake in the morning. Still, some dreams stay so vividly before my eyes, as if those incidents have actually happened in real life. My dream of last night was just one such rare one, which I remember minute details till now. I saw that our whole family was packing up to go somewhere, including my father (actually my father is no more in this wo...

Mom lovingly cut my handmade fruit cake and extinguished the magic candles which continued to emit the tune of Happy birthday song. I gifted her a super net sari of bottle-green color, which she was wearing in the party, as seen in the photo. She was looking so wonderful!!!! My Mom is the greatest Mom of the world..............
