Celebration of my mother's birthday

1st March is a great festive day for me because it is my mother's birthday. It is the greatest celebration for me in the whole year, even greater than the Durga Puja, as my Mom is living Goddess for me. So I always make it sure that I do my best to make it as colorful and enjoyable as possible. 

The above pictures were taken in her birthday party in evening. Though it was a cozy little gathering comprising a few  neighbors, our close relatives and friends. Mom lovingly cut my handmade fruit cake and extinguished the magic candles which continued to emit the tune of Happy birthday song. I gifted her a super net sari of bottle-green color, which she was wearing in the party, as seen in the photo. She was looking so wonderful!!!! My Mom is the greatest Mom of the world.............. I too wore a new kurta, bought specially for the occasion, on my mother's request. 

All of us enjoyed the birthday feast with different tasty snacks and sweets. I decked the entire apartment with balloons and flowers. Melodious music was played on the music system, as my mother is a great music lover. Later, we also watched a Bollywood movie that is recently released and we loved it!

Earlier we had a fabulous lunch too with Pulao, Chicken curry & Fish fry. I gave a little treat in my office too and all my colleagues wished her good health on this special day. Moreover, my boss was so sweet to call her personally and wish her Happy Birthday! Madam also sent my Mom a nice birthday present. Thus, overall it was a memorable day for both me and my loving Mother!!!!!! Hope we will be able to celebrate this day for many more years with the same joy and love.

Caged sky in urban life

 Once people used to see a vast sky, with a bright, large moon on a full moon day, they could try to count the numerous numbers of stars till they would get really tired. But now times have changed, at least in the urban life, where people almost are forgetting how the vast sky looks or how bright is the full moon night. I live in a flat in a metropolitan city. The above picture is a snapshot taken by me, of moon in the night sky from the behind the grills of my balcony. It looks as if the total nature is bound in a cage here. We are now more mechanical than natural, love the machines much more than the wide and beautiful nature gifted by God. So it is best even if we cannot get away from the time bounded city life, still we can derive some time out of our busy schedule and go back to our Mother Nature, to smell the wonderful fragrances of different objects of nature. This may make our life fresh again to a certain extent.
